Summit Ranger District offers riding and camping in the higher elevations at Clark Fork Horse Campground, Eagle Meadow, Fence Creek, Herring Creek, and in the Emigrant wilderness.

Animal rentals and pack trips are available from Aspen Meadow Pack Station and Kennedy Meadows Resort and Pack Station.  Both are off Highway 108.

Yosemite National Park

In Yosemite, three stables offer seasonal mule and horseback rides:  Tuolumne Meadows Stable, Yosemite Valley Stable, and Wawone Stable.  Explore the historical landmarks and fascinating natural attractions on horseback.  The park’s four visitor centers provide maps of trails for those who bring their own horses.

In addition, there are several equestrian facilities in Calaveras County including Copper valley Trail Co., Horse & Barrel, and Moaning Cavern Adventure Park.
